Missouri Distinguished PrincipalsMAESP participates in the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) National Distinguished Principal® (NDP) program. The NDP program was established in 1984 to recognize elementary and middle level principals who set high standards for instruction, student achievement, character, and climate for the students, families, and staff in their learning communities. Each of the eleven MAESP Regional Networks nominates a MAESP member principal who meets the above-mentioned criteria as its Regional Distinguished Principal Honoree. Exemplary New PrincipalsEach of the eleven MAESP Regional Networks may nominate a MAESP member principal in his or her second or third year as an elementary or middle level principal. Criteria established by MAESP require the individual to be a practicing principal in their second or third year as a principal. The principal must demonstrate evidence of outstanding contributions to the community and the education profession. | Outstanding Assistant PrincipalsEach of the eleven MAESP Regional Networks may nominate a MAESP member assistant principal. Criteria established by MAESP require the individual to be a full-time assistant principal supporting one or more learning communities. The assistant principal must demonstrate evidence of outstanding support and contributions to the school community and the potential to contribute to the education profession as a school principal. |
